Takoma Spark Creativity Camp

Session One:  June 18^th-22^nd,  9am - 4pm

Session Two:  June 25^th-29^th, 9am - 4 pm

Takoma Spark Creativity Camp is a day camp for artistically curious children ages 8-11. During the week at camp, kids will be immersed in a creative, supporting environment where they can take artistic risks and succeed! Not only do we focus on meaningful artistic products, but we also spend time teaching creative thinking techniques from numerous creativity researchers such as Czikszentmihaly and  Michalko. It is our goal to empower kids to embrace their artistic potential and practice creative leadership roles. Our  professional arts facilitators will guide your children in unleashing their creative spirits!

Our multi-disciplinary program includes:

•  Music-making on a variety of instruments (Don’t worry if your kids don’t play anything; we will show them how to jump right into the jam!

•  Instrument design and construction

•  Visual arts using acrylic paints, canvasses, found art
•  Divergent and convergent thinking games

•  Tye dye

•  Poetry and creative writing

•  International folk dancing

•  Theatrical improvisation games and exercises

•  Artistic cooking

•  An outdoor performance Friday evening for friends and family, accompanied by supper prepared by the campers

Takoma Spark Creativity Camp will take place at the Takoma Spark house located at 7206 Carroll Ave Takoma Park MD. A nearby park will be used for sports and other activities.

1 session- $300.
2 sessions $500.
